Hello Again!
As a writer, I read and write thousands of words each week. It's not uncommon for me to look at several hundred websites per week. I am often employed to look over a website and provide advice about how to improve it. Many times, clients just need a bit of tweaking in order for their site to POP!
The main problem I see is an unfortunate use of colors, layout or unprofessional writing. One piece of advice I give to clients is, "Just because you know how to write, doesn't make you a writer."
Hire a Pro if you want your web content to sound professional!

At times, clients hire me to write their web content as well as their advertising materials. This helps all of the various components, such as PPC ads, brochures & content to be consistent in conveying the same message. One mistake I often see on websites is boring content. Spice it up some so people will read, enjoy and remember your website.
A Word About SEO
In the past, many companies went crazy with SEO and stuffed their content to try and achieve better rankings. Because of Google's constant updates (such as Panda and Penguin) keyword stuffing is no longer acceptable. It will hurt your rankings and your content will not be unique and interesting. It is essential to put good quality content on your site. Don't hire cheap writers from Philippines and India who don't know what a verb or a noun is. The words on your site are like the face of your business.

Cyber Security
I've written hundreds of articles and white papers about cyber security. This has become an important topic for all businesses everywhere. Almost daily we hear of a security breach at some hospital, city hall, charity or business.
Legal Writing
I've written content for about a dozen attorneys in Texas and California. I understand how to write this stuff so that it does not make unethical claims but does convey the essentials about the law firm. Have also written many articles for personal injury law such as what to do right after an accident, how to find the right attorney and how to modify a custody agreement.
Medical Writing
Over the years, I've written content and articles for Primary Care physicians, urologists, dentists, chiropractors and OB/GYNs. For about 3 years I wrote all the advertising including books for a well-known OB/GYN in Georgia. Of course, I do excellent research and produce interesting work that people will enjoy reading.
Internet Marketing
Copywriters often work for many internet marketing companies over the course of their career and I'm no exception. At this time, I have 3 internet marketing clients that I write for. They most often need content and articles written. There's an art to producing good quality content that is keyword rich and you'll learn it quickly working with internet marketers.
Political Writing
In April of 2009 I was hired by a man in the Washington, D.C. area to ghost write a non-fiction book on the 2008 Presidential Election. The gist of this book was a comparative analysis of the political platform of both men: Barack Obama and John McCain.
Each man's political stance on an exhaustive list of issues that were currently facing America was discussed. In the concluding chapters of the book, I made observations about WHY Obama's message of change was more well received than McCain's.
iPad Games
More recently, I have worked on the team who put together the questions and answers for a new interactive iPad game called "QuiziTV" which was released in the fall of 2010. I also wrote the story line for a Children's iPad game called, "The Tinder Box". This game is based on the Hans Christian Andersen story of the same name.
